So before I tell you about Tulia let’s go back to how it all began…

Tulia became this wild idea that I vaguely envisioned in 2019 on a walk with Kerry Glen, while working at Karisia camel walking safaris, which is based in a very rural but beautiful area in East Laikipia, Kenya.

These massive lone standing lumps and pinnacles of ancient burnt granite were everywhere! So the seed was sewn, 5 years later I've bolted lines, trained 3 incredible guides from scratch an now Karisia safaris run daily climbing sessions with the help of Kerry and Jamie, her husband.

So, I loved the high mountains too but how could I bring sport climbing in the kenyan savannah an high altitude mountaineering together?

Now that is how ‘Tulia’ came alive.

This combination of Safari and Adventure brings 2 of my passions in life together – high altitude mountaineering/climbing and conservation.

This combination is a unique experience in itself however this is not just about the experience people will receive but also an opportunity for people to go on holiday an experience adventure an to truly switch off from the rest of the world.

This Safari is called Tulia.

The word ‘Tulia’ means to be at peace or calmed.

The reason I named this trip ‘Tulia’ is because I believe this trip will allow people to step away from their ‘norm’ and instead give them a new perspective of who we are as individuals, testing our limits and opening our eyes to different perspectives, as we go through environments that will unravel the complexity of people’s minds and find a sense of ‘calm’ as one’s focus begins to narrow to the here and now of the journey.

Okay, enough of that… let me tell you how I am bringing a Kenyan Safari, Rock Climbing and Climbing Mt Kenya all together in a 12 day experience…

Where it all began…
