5 Day Sea Stack Climbing

This 5 day Sea Stack climbing experience is a real adventure where we will try to climb all 3 biggest sea stacks in Scotland.

We will start with the Old Man of Stoer standing at 60m in length rising out of the ocean. This is not only an adventurous climb but an equally adventurous approach and abseil. The day involves walking along a dramatic cliff-top peninsula, followed by scrambling down the landward cliff, a ‘tyrolean’ across the water, 5 pitches of rock climbing, and a 60 metre abseil back down!

Our next stack will be Am Buachaille named the most serious out of the 3 stacks, standing at 65m. There is a mandatory swim out to the sea stack through slippery kelp, then after feeling fairly refreshed you will being to climb the ancient Torridonian sandstone stack.

Lastly The old man of Hoy, 106m of climbing, first climbed by the legendary Chris Bonnington in 1966. There is some wood work that was left in the rock from climbers years ago, dating its history in UK climbing.
