Learn to Lead Winter

5 day Course

This course is for those who have already experienced winter climbing and are now looking towards becoming more independent winter leaders.

  • Route selection

  • Gear placements

  • Rope work and stance management

  • Advanced avalanche and weather forecasting interpretation

  • Risk Mitigation

  • Snow anchors

  • Climbing technique coaching

  • Approaching and deciding winter cliffs

    • 1:1 - £1450 for 5 days

    • 1:2 - £1600 for 5 days

      The course runs better as a 1:2 ratio, we would recommend booking this course with 2 people, this helps simulate lead climbing.

    • This course is private guiding basis, on dates that suit you.

  • Quality waterproofs i.e. Gore-tex or similar

    Gaiters (to be worn underneath your waterproofs)

    B3 style boots

    C3 Crampon

    Warm hat

    Gloves x2 spares minimum

    Winter walking socks

    Large synthetic jacket

    Wicking base layers, top & bottoms

    Goggles, double clear lens recommended

    Head torch, plus spare batteries
